« My favourite iPad case »
November 14, 2010 I have an iPad, and I love it. I also have a new case for it which I am pretty crazy about. Of course, in the end it is just a case, but it is a case customized with my photography and logo. And you can have one too!
So what makes the case great besides the customized photo and self-glorification? Well, for some bizarre reason I am a sucker for the Hemminway'esque Moleskine case. The case clearly leans heavily on that design approach with a stiff cardboard cover clad in faux leather cover, and a simplistic rubberband closure.
↓ If Hemmingway had an iPad, it would look like so.

↑ Fold the cover back and it doubles as a slightly raised stand, making typing and working on your iPad more pleasurable.
Secondly, the wooden frame is made from pine and comes with four rubber stoppers inserted in each corner ensuring a snug and reasuring fit for your pad.

Thirdly, the wooden frame is cut in a way that it provides easy access to all the essential parts around the edge of the iPad. The only one I am having a slight problem with is the volume-down rocker. I wish they had cut just 2mm more room. Though I haven't drop-tested it yet, the wood instills more comfort that it might actually save my pad over, say, some flimsy soft leather/vinyl case.

A couple of thoughts on ordering the case
The case is made by Treegloo out of Texas. Ordering the case was a breeze with a very intuitive "build-your-case" page. Pricewise, the basemodel price is very attrictive, currently sitting below companies producing similar Moleskine-style cases and even Apple's own now-classic vinal iPad case. If you decide to customize the case with your own photography and logo, Treegloo is super helpful and will make sure your final product looks the best possible. Just be sure to select a photo with most of the 'action' on the left-hand side, as most of the right-hand side will be covered by your iPad.
So, here is the final product in all its glory already slightly worn.

Nice write up and pictures. Do you find that your ipad stays in place or does it suffer from the same problems as the Dodocase?

The ultimate test performed so far was folding the case over a treadmill monitor and running for 30 minutes. Was a bit nervous if I would find myself stepping on the device, but the iPad stayed firmly in its case despite the constant movement and bouncing.
Nice vid of the Dodocase.

Enjoy your case and iPad.
